Yurbuds Inspire for Women Review & Giveaway

If you haven’t heard the buzz about the new Yurbuds for women, then you probably have a toddler in the house I’m here to spread the news!  In the last couple of weeks, Yurbuds has launched a new product line designed for women by women.   They released the Inspire for Women earphones.

At first glance, one might assume that they just “colored up” the normal Yurbuds but these were specifically designed to fit smaller ears.  According to the spec sheet below they also feature the patented TwistLock Technology and they are sweat and water proof!

FEATURES:

  • Designed specifically to fit smaller ears
  • TwistLock (TM) Technology – Guaranteed to never fall out
  • Flexsoft (TM) Comfort Fit – Ergonomically designed to avoid nerve rich areas of the ear
  • Sweat & Water Resistant – Designed for active use
  • Exceptional Sound – Clinically proven acoustics
  • Angled-Flex Plug

My number one issue with earphones is that they do not fit my ear.  If I take music on a run I rarely use it or I “save” it for when I need it.  I am never able to listen long because my earphones dig into my ears and hurt.  And I can’t even count the number of times that I have made the decision to turn on the music and I don’t get any sound because the wires and/or device got wet and wouldn’t work.  I stopped taking music with me for the above reasons.   It was for these same reasons that I honestly wanted to try the Yurbuds Inspire for Women.

They came in the mail and I was tentatively excited (iPod not included).

There are two sizes of earphones in each package.  I compared them to a penny as a point of reference and am super happy my old bar skillz of standing a coin on end FINALLY came in handy!

Yurbuds Inspire_size & penny

I opted to try the smaller set since the larger size is the approximate size of an iPod earbud and that is normally too large for my ear.    They fit perfectly.  First use was indoors on the treadmill.  I plugged in while the family was milling around the house and crossed my fingers!  I am normally not able to hear my music unless its blaring because life around me is “abuzz”.  However, these earphones twisted in, fit well and I was immediately impressed with the sound quality AND how loud my player was from its last session.  I was able to turn down the volume considerably and still hear the tunes.  Plus, I kept thinking that the music just SOUNDED so much more vibrant (can I use this word for SOUND?) than normal.  Hmmmmm…..  So strange.  So I ran, was sweaty and nasty, able to hear the music the entire time and the sound was sooooo much better than I remembered.  The earphones never hurt my ears and they never moved.  In fact, I was so intent on the sound of the music, I forgot about the earphones all together.  This is good for me!  Sweaty photo below.

I’ve since tried the Yurbuds Inspire for Women earphones multiple times both indoors and out and I’m in love with these things.  They sound “normal” when only using one earphone but really shine on the sound quality front with both earphones locked into position.  Oh yeah, and they fit my ear!  They fit when I run, when I do the StairMaster and Elliptical.  Next up, a Tae Bo workout.  If they can survive Billy Blanks, then they will survive any fitness activity!

I’m definitely going to pick up a pair of these babies in pink for Aby for Christmas.  I know the size of earphones is always an issue for her tiny ears as well.  I’m super excited about this new product!

The Yurbuds Inspire for Women are exclusively sold at Target and Target.com.  They are reasonably priced at $29.99 and I’m going to get a pair for Aby ASAP before the holiday rush begins next week!!!  If you would like to grab a pair now without getting out of your PJs then click HERE to shop!  Or you can always try to win these:

    • Jill, my favorite for quite some time is Independent by Webbie. For whatever reason, I could listen to that one song on repeat ……. forever. Its got a simple beat & I’m all about independent women. 🙂

  1. I love yerbuds !!! I’ve used them for about a year n a half now and cant imagine of running without em. Only bad thing is after a while they loosen up and fall off easy.
    I’m down to 2 lefts … Hope I win 😉
    Thx

  2. Didn’t even read all the details of this post cause it was targeted to women and I a man. I can’t think of any reason why ear-buds have to be different for women vs men. Is there a sexually dimorphic difference vs a woman and a mans ear? Or is it just the color thing? Please…someone…let me know what is going on here! LOL! The buds should work for anyone…depending on the size of the ear canal. There are physical differences between male and female…but I never ever expected it to involve ears. Maybe that’s why men never understand women? But I have to suspect that is more related to the brain….LOL! Enjoy you ladies….ya deserve it for putting up with all that bullshit ya do to keep hubbies…family and yourself happy? another LOL! Woo-hoo…go for those buds ladies!

  3. Me and Julio down by the school yard!! I have gone through so many headphone because they dont stay in my small ears. I even bought the $100 bose ones that I cant even use. They look real cool in the carrying case. I alway hope one day I will find a pair that stay in!

  4. So hard to pick one……Stadium Arcadium Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I have earbuds, but they don’t fit any more, I wonder if they will sell the new covers. I do love the sound out of them!

  5. Wow, this is a tough one because I have tons of playlists for different moods. But right now my favorite song is Katie Perry’s Part of Me… probably because I’m in the breakup mode 🙂 but probably because it has a great rhythm!

  6. No particular favorite, just anything by the Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine or OK Go is a good starting point for me. Lose Yourself by Eminem is also great for running(perfect tempo, too!)

  7. This is tough, I love so many songs but the Rocky theme song just happened to be playing as I crossed the finish line at the Chicago half marathon in 2011, my first half. It has been inspiring me ever since!

  8. Love yur buds!! Fav running songs – rough bc so many but whatever b*tch by buck cherry and stronger by kelly clarkson for sure

  9. Feel So CLose by Calvin Harris.I would play it in the car and say it makes me feel like running, then the commercial came out where the guy is running to it and he ends up in the middle of the country because he’s in the zone, so whenevr the song comes on now my little one goes, Mom, it’s your running song! SHe thinks I can run far and fast and thats inspirational

  10. I have tons of music that motivates me when I run but I think the song that really gets my as* moving on that last leg across the finish line is Thunderstruck by ACDC!!

  11. I love songs that talk/sing about running! I also love songs that start out slow and pick up… It helps get you pumped towards the end/tired part of the race!

Right now, my favorite running song is “Dog Days are Over”… Great to play in the 2nd part of a race/workout as the worst part is behind you! 🙂

  12. ohhhhhh – way too hard to pick a favorite….. One old time fave is Guns and Roses Welcome to the Jungle….it gets me pumped!!!! And I might have to buy some of these….I have a major problem with earbuds……

  13. I somehow lost my yurbuds and am desperate need of another pair! My favorite running song is “Are you Gonna Be My Girl” by Jet!

  14. I would love to win a pair to try out! I too have issues with ear buds falling out so I’d like to these out. One of my favourite running songs is Kevin Rudolph’s Welcome to the World. That really helps me to pick up the tempo if I’m on a treadmill.

  15. Hmmm…all time favorite running song?! It’s hard to choose…. right now it’s “Burn it Down” by Awolnation. I time it so that it plays right as I coming close to the finish line (or end of my run)

  16. Hard to pick one fav song . . . really like Pound The Alarm by Niki Manaj right now, Run remix by Flo rida with one of the LMFAO guys, a couple of tracks from Linkin Park’s latest release (Castle of Glass and Lost in the Echo). I like to keep it fast and hard while I’m running!

  18. Thank you for the review! I am searching for earbuds that will not fall out (every 3 seconds) while I am running outside. I came across these at target, along with the pair that fit behind the ear (focus for women: http://yurbuds.com/products/behind-the-ear/), and was wondering if other runners had tested them out. I know you seem to like the regular inspire for women earbuds, but have you heard anything about the behind the ear fit? I can see this as added benefit to keep them in place while running, but was wondering if it was really necessary or even comfortable… If you have any thoughts I’d appreciate it!

    • I haven’t tried the over the ear ones but these don’t fall out b/c the twist lock in. This weekend I even caught the wire with a hand while running and it still didn’t come out. I really like these and now have 4 pair in the house. Even the kids use them.
