Sunburst Races Marathon (or Half) Giveaway – 2015

It’s that time again, let’s start thinking about the spring and early summer marathon calendar! I know that most of us have been in a major rut with this nasty weather but that’s about to end. What better way to motivate yourself and refocus but to sign up for a race? How about one of my favorites, the Sunburst Races Marathon & Half? I just signed up for the marathon and hope to see a lot of friendly faces out on course with me.

The Sunburst Marathon & Half is on June 6, 2015. That is 99 days away. Plenty of time to train and be ready to RUN South Bend! The event offers a variety of races over the weekend and pulls a great crowd to downtown South Bend. It’s a fun atmosphere and there are events for the entire family. The race starts in the downtown area, weaves thru town, along the river walk, and thru some nice neighborhoods where the residents come out in force with food, water, sprinklers, music and create a supportive environment for all runners. This is definitely a race where the community is behind the event! And the river walk is breathtaking!

The races finishes on the beautiful Notre Dame campus where there is a big after party with lots of food and fun so that you can await the finish of friends and family. Check out the Sunburst Races Marathon & Half website and figure out which event you want to run for 2015!

Well this Sunburst Marathon is not far away and I know a lot of people that have run it (including you). Always been of interest to run it…probably would have to do it really easy since it will be too soon after Boston to try to run long distance at high intensity. But I might be able to float an extended taper off of Boston and run it….if I am a lucky winner in the giveaway. I went to the FB race page and liked it also!

Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I’ve been eyeing this race for years. The river walk in SB is gorgeous! It would be awesome to cross Indiana off of my list of states raced in, too.

I was actually looking at this race a few months ago and would love to participate. Finishing on the Notre Dame grounds would be epic! With the past few winters I think June is the new April, great racing weather especially being at the beginning of the month. Another thing that attracts me to this event is the multiple race distances, one for every family member. Thanks for having the giveaway and I hope to see you in South Bend in June whether I win a free entry or not.

I am excited to be running my first Sunburst Half Marathon. I have completed the 5k and 10k in previous races, this one will be special because my father will be on campus at Notre Dame celebrating his 60th year class reunion!! He and my mom will get to see me cross the finish line on the Irish Green!!!
This race was my first Black Friday Purchase!!

I have like sunburst for a while lol this is my bucket list race as my husband is a huge ND fan (non runner) but if I do this would run the 5k lol fingers crossed 🙂

I would love to run the half-marathon! I think this is an excellent opportunity to explore a city close to mine that is new for me! Being a native Cincy girl, this is somewhere I have yet to explore!
