Allstate Life Insurance 13.1 Chicago Race Entry Giveaway….

The Allstate Life Insurance Chicago 13.1 Marathon will once again take to the South Shore of Chicago on June 8, 2013.  Although this is a newer race in Chicagoland, it is a good one!  The 13.1 race series is known for putting together great races with a few extras, gender specific race shirts, unique locations and a crowd pleasing after party.  For what they offer, the event is still priced reasonably with the current registration fee of $80.  Possibly the best part of the Chicago event is the unique location.  This is one of the few races held south of Jackson Park.  Runners start and finish at the South Shore Cultural Center, loop thru Jackson Park, then take to the lakefront for amazing views of both Lake Michigan and the city of Chicago.

I’ve wanted to run this event for multiple years but it hasn’t worked out for a variety of reasons.  I had planned to be out of town this year as well but I’m thinking we had an abrupt change of plans over the last couple weeks so I’m going to try to squeeze this in and I hope to see lots of friendly faces.

If you would like to be entered for a free entry, please comment below.  For an additional chance to win, go like 13.1 Marathon on Facebook HERE and leave a separate comment stating that you did so (and include your facebook name for verification purposes).

Good luck!  I will draw one winner via a random number generator on Monday, March 11th at 9am.  Two entries possible per person.

  1. Awesome giveaway! I’m in the same boat as you, something has always been going on during the race weekend. I really like that the race course is further south- the path is scenic and less crowded!

  2. Consider me in the giveaway for the entry. I ran the inaugural event in 2009. Back then it was just called 13.1 Marathon Chicago…no Allstate! They had artists that drew caricature of you racing to the finish line with the Blues Brothers cheering at the side. It was free after standing in line for a while. They do have quite the nice post-race festivities and definitely staged at the S. Shore Cultural Center is a big plus! Still have that caricature drawing framed and hanging on the wall.

  3. Frogger “Liked” 13.1 on their FB page and posted a comment about the Chicago event. Would be nice to win an entry!

  4. I’m running my first half ever in May, and I have a second scheduled for September. I would love to do this one as my second! =)

  5. I would love the opportunity! Doing my first 1/2 at the end if April and this would force me to stay on track and not get lazy after race day:)

  6. I ran this race for the first time last year and enjoyed it tremendously. The medal was one of the most unique that I have ever received. Would be nice to go down there and hopefully not have it be blazing hot that morning and give that course a good shot.

I also like the Facebook page and have for quite some time 🙂

  7. I too would totally love to be included. I am training for the half and this is the one me and my friends are looking at!

  8. I would love to run this half marathon. I checked the website out a few times but didnt want to break the bank.

  9. ooooooo I would love to win an entra into this race!! I’ve done it every single year they’ve held it since 2009, so this year would be 5 years in a row 🙂

  10. I would love to run this race. Opted not to run Chicago Marathon this year because of time committment. I am focusing on 1/2 marathon time this year. I will be 50 next year and will run the Chicago Marathon then! I love running in Chicago. It is the most beautiful view of the city and lake! Thanks

  11. This sounds amazing! Chicago is my hometown and I would love to showcase my new running ability there. 🙂 Liked it on Facebook (Ashley Fahey McFadin).
